“Not with sex,” I point out, flipping open the pizza box and taking out a slice.
“Don’t you think that’s my choice?” he deadpans.
My mouth drops open. “You’re not serious? I am not letting you put that,” I point to his crotch, “thing near me. It’s probably rotting with diseases.”
He grunts. “I always use protection. Don’t insult me.”
I take a bite of my pizza, chewing it and then saying, “So, I guess I have double the work to do tomorrow night?”
“Stop talking with your mouth full. God, do you have any manners?”
I stretch my leg out and kick his shin.
“Ow, fuck,” he barks, shooting daggers at me.
“Don’t insult me in my house, jackass.”
“Then don’t piss me off.”
I curl my lip with sarcasm. “Oh waa waa, have a cry about it already and then move the fuck on.”
His lips quirk. “It doesn’t surprise me that you’re single.”
My eyes widen and I scowl at him. “I get plenty of dick, thank you very much.”
“That’s a lie.”
Dang it, he’s right.
“Well, I would if I wasn’t doing your dirty work because you’re too lazy.”
He leans back, taking a bite of his pizza. “You like your job, admit it.”
“Don’t talk with your mouth full, don’t you have any manners,” I throw at him.
He grins at me.
Damn.
“I learned from the best.”
I laugh.
So he did.
CHAPTER THREE
Someone kicks the side of my bed. I groan and roll, taking the covers with me. Why do people always insist on waking me up when I’m having a good sleep? What ever happened to privacy? Sheesh.
“Get up.”
Reign. Jesus. The man doesn’t sleep.
“Go away, Reign,” I huff.
“It’s fucking four pm, what the hell are you doin’ still in bed?”
“It’s the weekend,” I say, my voice muffled from the pillow my face is pressed against.
“Yeah, which means I need you.”
I throw the covers back and roll, glaring up at him. Shit he looks good, all casual and rugged. “Can’t you just go and get yourself laid for once?”
He raises his brows at me. “I need someone to come with me to the opening of one of my new clubs tonight.”
I roll my eyes and groan loudly. “Boooo!”
He leans down, taking the covers and pulling them back. I’m only wearing a bra and panties. “Hey,” I protest, reaching for the sheet.
“Nice panties, is that Hello Kitty?”
“Listen here, jerk off,” I say, waggling my finger at him. “You can insult me, but don’t you go near Hello Kitty...got me?”
He shakes his head. “You really need to get yourself a man.”
“Who would appreciate my Hello Kitty panties,” I point out, rolling and forcing myself up.
“After he burns them,” he mutters. “Now get up.”
“Eat me, Reign,” I grumble, standing. “I’m tired.”
“You slept all fuckin’ day.”
“Shut your pie hole, your voice is too loud,” I complain, trudging past him towards the shower.
“You’ve got an hour, I’m making coffee,” he yells out after me.
I wave my hand. “Yeah yeah.”
~*~*~*~
Reign’s clubs are striking, that much I’ll give him. He always has them done up with the most modern, funky decorations and furniture, making them a real delight to be in. This particular one is extremely stylish, more for the upper class. It’s all red and black décor, shiny wooden floors and a bar with glass counter tops that drinks just slide along.
I stand at the back of it, martini in hand, watching as Reign does his speeches. Women gush over him and I see a group of them slinking up to the front of the small stage designed for bands. I want to gag; seriously, I hope I never become so desperate. When Reign finishes up with his speech, he thanks everyone and then exits the stage, his eyes scanning the crowd until he finds me.
I’m slightly under the weather, and so is he. I can tell by the glassiness in his eyes when he stops in front of me, looking damned magnificent in that black suit. His hair is falling lazily over his forehead, and his eyes are all sparkly and gorgeous. He stares down at my black dress for a minute, and then looks back up to me.
“Ready to get me some action?”
“Hi to you, too,” I smile sweetly.
He puts a hand on my shoulder and directs me towards a large booth. We sit down and I scoot closer to him.
“So go on, tell me what you’re looking for.”
He shrugs. “You owe me for your last attempt, so make it a good one.”
I stare around the room, spotting a redhead at the bar, giving Reign a sexy smile. “She’s good,” I say, nodding at her.
Reign glances over and provides her with a wink, which is absolutely perfect and easy for me to be able to put on a show. I turn to him and growl, “Could you make it anymore obvious?”
He stares down at me, confused for a second until he catches on.
“What?”
“You’re practically undressing her with your eyes,” I snap. “If you don’t want to be in a relationship, Reign, then just say so. Is it because she’s prettier than me?”
He makes eye contact with the woman again and I whisper, “She watching?”
